The Mission Impact Training Program “Sustainable Leadership & Impact Management” for Youth was announced at the Pre-Summit Y20 in Leh, India, 26-28 April 2023. The program will be aimed at educating young people and developing their practical skills in impact project management, current ESG-trends and collective leadership.
“This initiative offers a strong learning pathway to anyone who wants to boost their sustainability efforts, it will prepare them to confront the challenges and propose transformative solutions,” said Luis Lunagomez, youth delegate of Mexico on the track Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills.
“Our top priority is to teach young people the skills of impact project management, collective leadership and entrepreneurship in the context of changing labor market and the sustainable development agenda,” pointed out Darina Elizarova, representative of Mission Impact, Youth delegate of the Russian Federation on the track Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills.
As a result of the three-day work of the pre-summit, a group of Y20 delegates established an Academic Council to support the training program’s development. The next months the Academic Council will build the structure of the program, collect best practices in the field of impact management and reaching out to local communities for expertise.
“In the framework of the Y20 India - 2023 Future of Work track, the "Sustainable Leadership & Impact Management" initiative represents an interesting opportunity to coordinate efforts globally in the training of young leaders who will have an important perspective on the sustainable future,” commented Pablo Russo, Youth delegate of Argentine Republic on the track Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills.
In August 2023, the group of Y20 delegates expects to present the training program as a result of their joint work at the Summit on the track "Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation and 21st Century Skills" and the 1st module of the program will be launched.
Y20 India Secretariat held the Pre-Summit in Leh, India, 26-28 April, to prepare positions for the Y20 Summit in August 2023. The Pre-Summit gathered delegates from G20 member countries, including Russia, Indonesia, South Africa, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.
Youth 20 (Y20) is an official consultation forum for youth from all G20 member countries to be able to dialogue with each other. Y20 encourages youth as future leaders to raise awareness of global issues, exchange ideas, argue, negotiate, and reach consensus
The Y20 India Summit in 2023 will be a valuable opportunity for the global youth to reflect on the following priority areas and suggest policy recommendations for consultations with the G20 member states. The delegates will be called to address five main topics:
1. Health, Well-being, and Sports: Agenda for Youth
2. Shared Future: Youth in Democracy and Governance
3. Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction: Making Sustainability a Way of Life
4. Peace-building and Reconciliation: Ushering in an Era of No War
5. Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills
