EDUCATION CATALYST OF THE FUTURE
Advancing scientific discoveries, nurturing core values, and catalyzing human potential
Read moreWe live in an age of learning economy when, in the global context of growing complexity, the quality of education is the only sustainable competitive advantage.
To keep up with the unprecedented changes the last few years have brought about and meet the demands of the future, educational ecosystems must be redesigned.
GIC 2022 will explore the trends, challenges, and opportunities of education in the years to come and will discuss how we can collaboratively co-create a future that works for all of humanity.

Global Impact Conference (GIC) is an acclaimed international conference driven by the community of changemakers pioneering sustainable action to reduce socioeconomic gaps and ignite a brighter future for the generations to come.
Having started as an online initiative in 2020, GIC became a platform for bridging dialogue with action to contribute to positive impact in key spheres of social and economic life. Over 100 distinguished experts from almost 30 countries shared their invaluable insights and practices with 750 000 viewers worldwide to help overcome consequences of the COVID pandemic and other challenges.
While GIC 2020 “Energy for Impact” and GIC 2021 “Bridging the Gaps” laid the foundation, the Global Impact Conference “Education X: Catalyst of the Future” will once again gather its global network together in a hybrid event combining face-to-face discussions with outstanding online experiences.
On December 1, 2022, the Global Impact Conference will bring together visionary business and thought leaders, government and civil society organizations, think-tanks and activists, to inspire collaborative action and pave the road to sustainable change by nurturing core values and revolutionizing educational systems.
The Global Impact Conference is hosted by the Rosatom Corporate Academy, bound by the belief in energizing people with knowledge and creating opportunities for unlimited development.

After becoming Director General of Rosatom, Alexey initiated a new corporate development strategy expanding Rosatom’s leadership in the atomic industry towards global technological leadership across a wide range of new products. The major goal of the new corporate vision is unlocking employees’ potential through continuous education and developing programs to attract the best talent.
Rosatom ranks first in the world among nuclear technology providers in terms of portfolio of foreign projects with 35 power units in 12 countries at different stages of implementation.
The product portfolio includes not only traditional nuclear energy solutions but also new areas such as nuclear medicine, nuclear science and technology centers based on research reactors, radiation processing complexes for products and much more.
Rosatom is also developing activities in several non-nuclear sectors such as wind energy, production of composite materials and additive technologies.
Rosatom supports and promotes the global concept of low-carbon energy known as the Green Square — nuclear, solar, hydro and wind generated energy.
In 2020, the company became a member of the United Nations Global Compact — the largest international initiative in the field of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.

Catalyzing Change: A Dynamic Program Unveiled at Global Impact Conference 2022
It is said that development is inspired by ambitious goals, serious challenges and demanding role models.
OPENING PLENARY SESSION
It is said that development is inspired by ambitious goals, serious challenges and demanding role models. While humanity will always yearn for some kind of utopia, it is often crises that really bring out our capacity for groundbreaking innovation in all areas of society, science and the economy, and for setting new cultural trends. How do people change in times of change? How do cultures change, and what is the main purpose of art: mirroring reality vs setting new standards? Should humanist values have priority over technological development and scientific exploration even when they hold back new inventions? Is it possible to have moral absolutes in a constantly changing world? And how do businesses respond to the emergence of new imperatives? Let's look at this from the perspective of a businessman, a scientist and an art historian.
In a turbulent and interdependent world where even minor events and developments may define the course of history, humanity’s only consistent guiding light is education.
ROUNDTABLE
In a turbulent and interdependent world where even minor events and developments may define the course of history, humanity’s only consistent guiding light is education. Influencers becoming educators, peer learning, micro-credentials and the emphasis on psychological comfort for students – which of these innovative trends will influence the global educational landscape in the years to come? How are approaches to education changing, and how big a role do regional specifics play in shaping today’s educational environment? What are the challenges, the opportunities and the scenarios for transforming educational systems that the younger generations are seeing?

Although gender equality is a widely covered issue in the media and part of the sustainable development agenda, only 28 percent of women worldwide are working in science, technology, engineering or mathematics-related jobs.
INTERNATIONAL DIALOGUE
Although gender equality is a widely covered issue in the media and part of the sustainable development agenda, only 28 percent of women worldwide are working in science, technology, engineering or mathematics-related jobs. Researchers believe this disparity is primarily due to archaic social norms and lack of professional confidence, which keep women from pursuing a career in STEM fields. Those who do accept the challenge have to deal with the gender pay gap and barriers to promotion. Which of the corporate and government-led initiatives launched in different countries in order to tackle gender inequality will prove effective in empowering women to overcome the ‘sticky floor’ and the ‘glass ceiling’? How can we create more incentives for increasing women’s presence in the job market so that they could fully use their potential to the benefit of the economy?
Air taxis, unmanned subway trains, delivery robots, voice assistants and metaverses: things that used to only exist in sci-fi movies have now become part of our everyday life.
KEYNOTE SESSION
Air taxis, unmanned subway trains, delivery robots, voice assistants and metaverses: things that used to only exist in sci-fi movies have now become part of our everyday life. By 2050, one in three professions will rely on artificial intelligence. While concerns over rising global unemployment may be justified, one takeaway from the previous three technological revolutions is that innovations don’t really lead to job shortage, but rather necessitate a reconfiguration of the labor market. With routine jobs getting automated, greater significance falls on intellectual labor and creative industries, which still depend on the human mind as their main driver.
The past few years have presented humanity with unprecedented challenges which have inevitably resulted in a paradigm shift in people’s behavioral patterns, consumer choices, mindset, goals, and values.
FIRESIDE CHAT
The past few years have presented humanity with unprecedented challenges which have inevitably resulted in a paradigm shift in people’s behavioral patterns, consumer choices, mindset, goals, and values. Nurturing the skills needed for green careers could well be the key for transitioning to net zero. What jobs are needed most in the age of climate emergency and how can companies and international organisations translate their alignment with the Paris Agreement into shaping new career paths that will ignite a sustainable future?
Human-centered companies take into account the interests of the individual employee, the team, and the society as a whole.
Human-centered companies take into account the interests of the individual employee, the team, and the society as a whole. They enable career growth, training and well-being of employees. At the same time, a human-centered company would like to help local communities in the regions where it operates. What do companies mean by “human-centered”? How quantitative benchmarks can be set? We are to sum up the results of the pilot year, and make plans for the next year together with the Expert Council of this research project.
What are the best human-centered practices in Russia? Why do they emerge?

Plan to visit
Welcome to the fifth largest city in Russia Home of the Global impact Conference.
Plan to visitThe fifth largest city in Russia, with a population of over 1.2 million, Nizhny Novgorod stands at the confluence of two rivers, the Volga and Oka. It is one of the country’s major administrative, economic and cultural centers. Besides, it is Russia’s largest industrial center, with sprawling mechanical engineering, metalworking, and automotive plants. In years 1959 to 1991, Nizhny Novgorod was a “forbidden” city for foreigners because of all the armament factories located there. These days, though, it is one of the country’s richest cultural centers, a genuine hub of river cruise tourism, and home to many major international fairs and exhibitions.
